I am missing several files on my CF card from a photography outing yesterday.
I think that I must have deleted "ALL" accidently while I was trying to delete just one image. Is there any (easy) way to recover these files? I have not formatted the card. Nothing life or death here, just very dissappointing.
If this has been discussed here before, please feel free to offer a link.

Lesson learned -- Be very carefull when deleting -- or better yet, have enough memory with you (which I did have) and don't delete at all!

Yes, there are many programs that can recover deleted files from a CF card. I like one called File Scavenger (external link)but there are many others out there that will work equally well. And if you Google the phrase "free data recovery software" you'd probably find lots of free software too.

No luck so far -- tried 3 or 4 different free downloads. Any names of favorite free download suggestions for data recovery that works on vista would be appreciated.

Have you looked on the card maker's website for their own recovery software? My sister had success with Sandisk's software recently.

Damien, thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that too. Unfortunately I didn't realize my error untill I got home, so I kept shooting and adding to the card.

Try those if you haven't already. You may have written over them though.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)
