Didn't notice that. Pretty dumb considering the locations are worldwide. I guess it due to concerns about differing laws regarding competitions and prizes and such around the world.

I just had a look. One of the iconic European images they want is Rosslyn Chapel. This is an ugly lump of a building from the outside (and is currently covered in scaffolding) and all photography is banned inside. I don't think anyone's going to get a winner from that location... :D
