Hi guys, anyone give any idea how to get the skyports to trigger the 580 ex II's, I usually use the ST -E2 trigger but some one said to give the skyports ago as they may be better???

The best way to connect them is with a cord like this:

Another adapter, which could be used to connect a Skyport receiver to most any hotshoe flash, would be something like this:

Curtis:
Do you know of any other suppliers for the two connection cords that you had posted links to? Flash Zebra is out of stock on both & I have not head back from them since emailing them?

Thanks,
Michael

Try http://paramountcords.com (external link)
They'll be more expensive than flashzebra, but they are top quality products.

Thank you!

Thanks Curtis!

I spoke to Gary at Paramount. (Very nice guy). The cords are significantly more expensive but with a newborn at home I don't have the time to make my own, and Gary assured me of the quality.

Finding these in stock has been a challenge.

For those of you with a little more time I found this: Michael Tangen's site called www.GroundlevelPhotography.com (external link) he has pretty simple instructions for making your own.

Thanks to All,
Michael

I almost forgot - Michael Bass Designs sells this sort of stuff, though I'm not sure if he has specifically what you need.

Any cord with a PC male on one end and a 1/8" miniplug male on the other end will work. But for more reliability, I recommend a cord with a Screwlock PC male connector if possible.

Dawn,

Just want to let you know that ETTL will not work with the SkyPorts like it does with your ST-E2. You will have to use the flashes in Manual mode. Not sure if you knew, but didn't want it to suprise you if you bought the Skyports, and couldn't figure out why ETTL wasn't working for you.
