Thanks I have that same issue...that is why I add a masking layer I think (I can't remember now since I am not looking at it), so I can keep trying with the hit & miss until I get there.

I usually have to drag the gradient tool way off the image canvas to get the graduation I like, sometimes zooming out so the image is nothing but an icon almost. If that makes sense. Anke
