I am not an expert on these at all, but the car shot above isn't working fully - just a minor tweak and it would be gold... There is no way that "only" the car would be in focus. There should be a "band of focus" that should include the car. I think that this would be a really cool one then.

1) yes that is Laguna Seca

2) I only chose the focal point because I wanted that person at the table to be in focus. But I will try the other way, too...
