Your tent is the same thing we have been saying. We're not saying that a 50 1.8 will take wonderful shots of a bird at 100 yards. We're saying a good photographer knows the limits of the lens they are using and knows how to manipulate it to take great shots. A great lens will not make you a great photographer. An experienced camper will know the limits of their gear and how what to use in what situation.

well said!

Some of us find mowing to be relaxing, and you can't beat the smell of a freshly-mowed lawn. :D

Fresh mowed lawns are hell to my allergies.

Me too, they make me sneeze a lot.

My husband finds mowing like meditation, he loves it.

Who then wake us up at 4am every single freakin' morning sitting on a branch level with the bedroom window!

But I love the little song birds, they only cheep quietly in the morning.

I've always thought Pro's use good glass because they've done the time with the cheap stuff and learnt the limitations. Pro's have the foundation of years of experience and thousands of thought out and realized results. They got good shots with inferior glass because they know the limitations and when they were within them. When the shots you want are outside the limitations of the optic you own, you need to buy better gear.

It seems like a few people are answering the "Good glass doesn't matter" statement which isn't at all what Hoff said.
