What do you think of the PP?

To let you know, I took 2 pictures, one at f/4 and one at f/22. I was unhappy with the sharpness of the flower at f/4, but loved the bokeh. Needless to say, the f/22 flower was pasted onto the original. (Full size in my Flickr...)

Personally I like it, its vibrant and bright. But if you put it in a competiton at my camera club a judge would say that the out of focus coloured patches in the background are too bright and distracting. he would probably also say that the out of focus second flower would be OK except that it touches the main flower and so detracts from it.

Another Centrally-Framed flower shot--and I like it. I like it very much

I think it's a lovely shot and a very pretty flower. The only thing I would change is I would crop it in more...take it pretty close to the edge of the flower pedals. I have to agree with Mark, the flower in the background in the upper right does distract just a little but I think a good tight crop would eliminate most of that.

As far as the shot being a "comp", I also have to say good job. While I have to say that I'm surprised you got a sharper shot at f/22 for the foreground than f/4 (that's not how most lenses tend to work typically). either way I think this falls under "whatever works" and you did a nice job splicing them together.

Peace,
Jim

Thank you guys for the kind comments... I think I will crop it a bit tighter and see how it comes out...

Good advice, y'all! I really like it with a bit tighter of a crop...

I'm amazed at the difference the crop made. The new crop accentuates a specific area (the beautiful colors and intricatcies of theflower's center)

Beautiful shot.

Awesome shot. Well done with the Post Processing. I think the second crop made an already great shot better.

Thanks! I agree - the way the camera captured the details of the center of the flower definitely makes it for me as well!

Thanks! Glad to hear that it's not apparent that it's two images stitched together... I appreciate the feedback! :D
