Hey Guys,

Do you guys use the flash when taking pics of newborn? My sister is about to have her first child soon, and I was wondering if it would be ok to use the flash at the hospital.

Personally, I don't.
I like natural light so much better, especially with a newborn.
Also, your sister may not mind, but many parents aren't fond of their brand new little ones being flashed with bright light. I know when my babies were born, I didn't want any flashes going off.
Ideally, you'll have a nice window with lots of light coming in.
If that's not possible, though, I suppose you'll have to play it by hear, and just ask when the time comes.
What lens will you be using?

Vicki :)

This pic was taken at about 18 hours of my new little nephew, no flash, only window light from a cloudy Denver day. 50/1.8. I wouldn't dream of using flash on a newborn...ever.
