Interfit did/does make barndoors for the EX150 and EXD200. You can see 'em here:

http://****/3vrhmk (external link)

Alas, the barndoors are designed to clip onto the standard reflector (8-1/4" diameter) that comes/came with these lights. I asked at B&H whether the EX series standard reflectors are currently available and the answer was "no, discontinued". However, the Interfit barndoors are in stock at B&H.

When I got home, I measured the diameter of the reflectors that came with the Genesis lights and found them to be tantalyzingly close to 8-1/4" (a hair over).

Next time I go to B&H, I'll bring one of the reflectors to see if the Interfit barndoors will work.

Incidentally, the EX150 and EXD200 flash units as well as their (few) accessories are shown as current on the Interfit site (www.interfitphotographic.com (external link)) and also appear in the downloadable catalog. The EXD200 is also shown on the Adorama site:

http://****/3tj7bj (external link)

So, that's as much as I know to this point. The jury is still out on whether the Interfit barndoors will work with the Genesis reflector.

I briefly had the Interfit barndoors that fit on the 7" reflectors intended for the Interfit Stellar lights.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com …_4_Leaf_Barndoor_Set.html (external link)

I returned them because, similar to the problem Robert previously reported with the AB barn doors, you really can only use two doors at a time...horizontal or vertical. You can't close all four doors down enough to get a small opening. It looks like the EX150 versions are a very similar build.

I picked up the much more flexible Lowel version instead, which are great. Doesn't look like they make a 8 1/4' version though.

Just thought I'd give a heads up.

That'd be right! Just after I bought the Elin snoot and grid combo for $68! Still, cheaper than I can get it for locally, so I'm not too unhappy... What I wouldn't give to be able to stroll through B&H once in a while... you know, without having to buy an airline ticket! :D

Quick question: Did you use any of these on Elinchrom lights? I'm trying to save some cash on the barndoors ($160 for Elinchrom 4-leaf barndoors!), but don't want to order anything without checking first whether I will be able to couple it to my Elin strobes...

I don't own Elinchrom lights so can't help with any info there. But I do see Elinchrom makes a 7" reflector that the Lowel barn doors probably fit on.

An expensive route but the Lowel barn doors and the Elinchrom 7" reflector combined is still less than the Elinchrom barn doors you listed above.

The problem with "probably" is that what I save, I might have to spend to send the stuff back if it doesn't work. I was considering that route until I read in another thread here that the Lowell barndoors did not fit on another 7" reflector (Alien Bees I think) without modifications. While I might be able to modify the attachment somehow, it might also work out that it is not practical. So I need to know whether it works before I order it. One of the drawbacks of living so far from B&H...

Understandable. It's a pain and costly to ship things back. The Lowel barn doors did snap right on the Interfit 7" reflectors with no problems or modifications. Maybe someone else owns both and can help.

I just wanted to throw it out as a possible solution but sounds like you were on it already!

OK, stupid question: Will the Interfit reflector fit on an Elinchrom strobe?? For the life of me I cannot remember what my old Bowens outfit used for mounting reflectors and accessories (I sold it years ago!).

Wow - I didn't realise that my (arriving today!) lights use an Elinchrom accessory mount.

Just out of interest, what makes you think the EX 150 and D200 have been discontinued? http://www.interfitphotographic.com/ (external link) seems to suggest they're going strong!

Well, if this question is directed at me, the answer is that the salesman at B&H told me they had been discontinued. However, I also noted that both lights appear on the Interfit web site and in their downloadable catalog and that the EXD200 is shown on the Adorama site. I think the B&H guy just misspoke.

Hi - sorry, yes it was. Otherwise it could be that they won't be distributed in the US anymore, or that B&H are discontinuing selling them? The MkII of the EX 150 only came out last month.

The Interfit Stellars use a Bowens "S" type bayonet mount. The EX150's use Elinchrom mounts (obviously). Not sure Interfit offers a 7" reflector for the EX150.
