Hi - sorry, yes it was. Otherwise it could be that they won't be distributed in the US anymore, or that B&H are discontinuing selling them? The MkII of the EX 150 only came out last month.

So I called Interfit's US HQ in Georgia. Here's the story: The EX150 and EXD200 are indeed new products and both are currently available (but not at B&H). The standard reflectors are approximately 8-1/4" in diameter ( the person I spoke with measured one for me). The reflectors are not generally available for purchase through retail outlets but can be ordered through Interfit's parts department. The barndoors and snoot are the only two accessories planned for these lights (apart from the softboxes). Forget about an Interfit beauty dish or other reflectors.

Don't know if this information really helps us beyond suggesting we need to look elsewhere for accessories.

Well, since the EX150 and D200 use the Elinchrom bayonet, we should be able to find non-OEM Elinchrom fit accessories. It makes sense that they won't spend money on accessories on the EX 150 as it's aimed at home use, but the D200 is that little bit more expensive.

Anyway, hopefully we can get Elinchrom fit (or speedring) accessories

Those beauty dishes w/cover are an unbeatable price, but you'll still need a little DIY work to make them mount. They're a "bowens" mount (used by Alien Bees, right?) and your Genesis lights are an "Elinchrom" style mount. From the photo I can't tell if there's a simple way to remount a different speed ring style to the back of this, but it might be worth playing with. At that cost - it's a cheap experiment. :)

Oh, and on the subject of different mounts, I started a thread to capture what mounts different lights have - https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=511306

They are cheap but then they're only 16" in diameter and have a silver rather than white interior finish. To cut down on specularity, I suppose it would be simple to spray paint it white. They also have a solid central deflector which can result in donut shaped highlights in the eyes.

A not-too-expensive alternative I'm considering is based on this:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com …mage&Q=&sku=133201&is=REG (external link)

This is a 22" Speedotron beauty dish. I had a chance to take a close look at one when I was at B&H the other day. The interior is white and the central deflector disk is translucent. Most significantly, the Speedotron mount is a simple flanged affair that's fastened to the dish from the rear with 4 small screws. Without taking a ruler to it, it sure looks like an inexpensive SP or Norman Elinchrom ring could easily be screwed on in place of the Speedotron ring. My only concern would be that the hole in the dish where the flashtube sits might be too small to accommodate the Genesis.

Sorry guys - I had a note above about "Bowens" mount being for Alien Bees, but that's a mis-statement. AB's use the "Balcar" mount ... now "Bowens". Oops - brain fart. Regardless - you'll have to ghetto rig it a little for the genesis lights.

I think we should all talk Tetrode into picking up that Speedotron at B&H and giving it the makeover he mentions and generate a DIY for any non-handyman do-it-yourselfers like me. Whad'ya think, Dave ... wanna help the team out? My DIY skills require at least 4 trips to home depot for the simplest of things (much to my wife's chagrin)! Not sure I'd be right to take this on. :)

Apparently you can modify the S mount to fit on the Balcar mount?

As an aside, my interfit lights came yesterday, and one of them is faulty - when it charges it makes a scary sparking noise, so will see if I can get a replacement head as opposed to a whole replacement kit.

Many thanks to you all! I have ordered but the snoot and the barn door accessories for my Genesis kit. Of course "saving" money only means that i will spend it on something else for my photography habit.
