Was talking to a friend that from what I understand is big in Canon. Talking about the fact that I had bad luck with the Mk3 and was just gonna wait for the new (next) one.

......."Well I'll think I'll just wait for the next update"......kinda as I was walking away.......and I heard "February". Lets just say in this persons position they would know .

7D ......waiting on the 5D3

Deep Throat lives! For the younger members of the board, that's a Watergate reference...not a movie reference. :-)

Evidence? We need more than "I heard it from someone high up at Canon".
Anyone could make that up.

Slipping up with truthful stuff would cost that guy his livelyhood if caught. So I just can't believe him/you. =D

That movie was called "All the Presidents Men", not "Watergate". Wasn't that the same movie that G. Gordon Liddy made his debut?

David, he was making a distinction between the Deep Throats. One had to do with the Watergate scandal, the informer, and one was a movie, which according to IMDB was the most succesful movie of all time in terms of budget to box office returns ratio.

His friend is the secretary and she works on the 52nd floor of Canon's offices.

Incorrect. William Mark Felt, Sr Deputy Director of the FBI was Deep throat. That was a very cool time for news and politics.

I really liked both movies.

While we're on this particular subject, does the source behind the green door on the 52nd floor think that Canon will launch a new long lens to go with the MK3 upgrade?

Are you asking if it will be long enough to require a Deep Throat? :o
