Bought some Skyports last week and tried them out this weekend. I had the flash sitting very low pointing up.They worked flawlessly, just need to work out the settings a little better. It was an overcast day so it was casting shadows from the handle bars and arms. I think on a sunny day and a little less power they should work real good for exposing the faces under the helmets.

One and three look to be good racing action pictures, the riders eyes and fingers on the brake levers in the second picture makes it look like its not a racing shot plus casual looking riders in the back ground.
Picture wise they look good, just a bit of movement which helps them look fast, focus and lighting OK.

Great shots. I think number 3 wins it for me. I agree that number 2 looks like you hit him with a spot light. Nice work, home mine come out this nice someday.

I don't mean to hijack this tread, but I saw the mention of skyports. I was thinking of purchasing some instead of the pricey pocketwizards. I've been a little hesitant since it seems you can't replace the battery on the master? unit.

Any thoughts you'd like to share about the skyports?

Thanks

Rich

Dan,

Do you remember the zoom setting on the flash? Thanks!

They work great. The transmitter is very light on the camera. I'm not sure of the battery life but at about half the price of the PW's you can't go wrong.

Carlos I don't remember the zoom but I used (M) at 1/8 to 1/4.

Beautiful shots. I hope you don't mind. I'm just playing with the Nik Vivesa plugin and practicing pp. This is just using a single selection point to slightly brghten up the rider.
