I've noticed lately (and i'm definately guilty myself) that HDR is getting to be extremely overused, and often used when it's advantages are wasted on similar colors etc. i admit that i take at least one or two hdr sets most of the time i go out, but hardly ever end up composing them. today was nice (and now it's looking like thunder, hence me inside) so i tried to find someplace where HDR is actually useful. I didn't really get any that were to special, the first one is a little overdone, and the second one doesn't have quite enough focus on the bike, but oh well.

My eye goes to the big bright area in #1, so I like #2 better.

What process did you use to create those HDRs?

we have a winner! just after the u turn going south on the strait that leads into that nice left. the bit 180-ish turn before the oyster bar going south is especially badass. i had a friend go down behind me going up it though, that radius tightens up like a mother at the top!

Both scenes have quite a bit of DR, how many exposures and what was your ev spacing? Looks like a few more exposures for the highlights would help these.

To me it matters not how much a tool/technique is used (and what constitutes overused anyway?) but more so the end results.

Sorry to see that. I raced one for ten years, & without Konis & the Mueller rear spring, they were very destructible! :D

that's the same problem the TLR's have, the rear suspension is a strange type of rotary dampener, and without an upgrade to an aftermarket shock/suspension system they can be a little sketch when hauling balls. in fact, that coupled with balding tires almost threw my ass over the guardrail/cliff coming out of a turn on chuckanut a few months back...

falling off a cliff would definately ruin your day

I like that one. Might brighten the bike up a bit with an Adjustment Layer:

I agree with this guy. I had a HDR hype a little while ago and recently figured out that my XT has a setting to do multiple exposures pressing the shutter one time.

However, I do like the last pic you posted most (the non-HDR)
