While bike riding with my daughter at a local park, I heard the "chip" call of this bird. Funny thing is that the day before we heard a different call in the evening and while listening to a CD of calls to see what it might be, I heard both the Northern and Louisiana calls. It pays to learn the songs. 
This guy was fairly skittish while bobbing like a spotted sandpiper in the shallow, shale bed creek. I was able to get two similar shots of him on this branch before he flew down the creek. I followed and got close, but it was evening and the light was tough for a handheld 100-400 with a 1.4 TC.
