Damien opened for Jeremy Enigk...his performance was somewhat emotional and really intimate. It was the kind of performance you expect to see at a house show or while watching someone play in a living room, except that it was at a packed bar.

This was my first concert outing with the 5D. Although the lighting didn't present much of a challenge for the sensor or the AF, I was happy with the keeper rate (I only shot about 30 frames for this set). Speaking of lighting, it was rather uneven and boring (hence the b&w). The faces are a little hot in some, are they too hot? How are the b&w conversions?

Thanks for looking.

All at ISO1600

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Faces look fine to me, not blown whatsoever.

Thanks guys. Yeah, the 5D is not too shabby for being such an old dog. I got the 35/85/135 primes with the idea that I'd move to FF someday, and I'm glad to finally make the move. I shot a show last night mostly at ISO3200 f/1.4 and I'll probably do the same again tonight...getting back into my comfort zone, high iso and primes. I may just skip zooms for awhile...I was going to pick up a 24-70, but now I'm thinking that I might just sell my 17-55 and replace my dinosaur of a computer instead. :)

Good luck tonight Michael...I'm sure you'll enjoy your new piece of kit.

hey drew, congrats on getting the 5D. looks like you know how to handle it. :D

i like 3, 5 and 6 (esp for getting the chucks in the shot). nice, simple, cleanly-framed shots.
