Saw a shot recently of someone who took a shot of themselves on a skateboard. I tried something similar but with a different angle and a bit of post processing. Let me know what you think

I think it looks good. A few things that would make it look better imo. IF you could stand up and put on shoes. Your toe and knee is somewhat distracting. All in all I think you have a good, fun shot though.

See, I kinda think the toes add a little character to the shot. Very cool idea and I think you pulled it off really well. I haven't seen anything like it before.

So tell me, how fast were you going, and what lens were you using? I'm not sure I'd have the guts to do something like that with my camera and I know I wouldn't have the balance!

I was using my 16-35 at 16mm. I was going probably 5-10mph, and had to go dropknee to get low enough to get the road movement in the shot

Your one brave fella :)
I like it, but as others said the first thing I see is the toe and at first I wondered what the heck it was... I wasn't expecting a skateboard shot with the rider not wearing shoes.

not like youd need to do much , try to mount the camera on a tripo or mono pod and use it like a camera arm. and set the timer and go. and if you have to rotate and crop later who will know?. great shot tho, have to agree onthe toe and kneeling..

Thanks guys. I actually took a shot this afternoon (with shoes) with my camera on my monopod upside down to get a shot without me kneeling down. I just need to edit it a bit and will post it up here to show the new result

I saw the other shot you referred too, and it was better mainly because it was wider. I think 16mm on a 40D is too narrow of a AOV to achieve the best result for this shot.
