I'd appreciate the comments and critiques as I try to gain more ideas about flowers.

Thanks, and enjoy.

I do like it, I've always liked flowers in B&W.

Here is my take on it, a little less contrast

Thanks broncobear...appreciate the comments, and edit. For some reason, I can't tell the difference between the two...hehe...but I'm sure it's minimal, in a good way. Thanks again.

I am a fan of the shooting stars( it looks like one) color;) If there is color.I need to see it.lol.just me.Sometimes there is not enough hue to grab ones attention, so a good B&W is welcome.

Hiya flo..Maybe I'm a little slow today...but, I take it you 'like' the b&w?

As for the species...it's a Bulbine frutescens (or an Orange African Bulbine). I got them at a flea market, for 4 bucks each...and both of them are doing wonderfully.

No problem, Flo. I'll check it when I get home...not sure if I 'saved' the color version...but, the raw file is definately there.

Meanwhile, here's a link to a site that shows the flower... click here. (external link)

Yeah, it is...but, B&W sometimes helps one assess another mood. That's what I was going for, with this one...but, I'll be sure to put up a color version.

Thnaks for the link.I knew it looked familiar.

Now that I have a comparrison...I do like the B&W take, although the composition , with the flower to the side being cut off..would it be possible to isolate one sprig of the flower?

I'm sure I can do that too...I'd just have to take more pictures. The original doesn't look 'anything' like this one...hehe.

Yeah, same here...but, when you are sitting home alone (wife was at work), and TV (which I don't watch often) becomes boring, then, well...this is the result of that.
