School Photographers?

Greetings,

I am looking to ask some questions to any school photographers who would like to share some information. Particularly in regard to the administration software schools use and how you provide images that are compatible with that software.

Any input would be appreciated.

Before you invest a lot of time in this, are you sure the school hasn't locked school photo rights up based on a school district policy?

From what I know from the studio I used to work for...

The school supplied an Excel database. This data base was plugged into the software that we used. We were linked with Herff Jones, so the software was their Shutterware. Once you shot the student, their image was linked to their database file.

I would try just using Camlynx. Pretty much does the same thing and is cheaper.

One of the main things to remember about school photography is consistency is very important. Lighting,headsizing,po​sing. An upset yearbook advisor can be your worst enemy.
