ND filter, help!

Not sure about the pricing, but here is a B+W 10 stop from a reliable supplier:

At iso 100, f16, you will need a 10 stop to get to 10 seconds on a sunny day. You can count the stops from the sunny 16 rule.

Adjustable ND filter

There is an adjustable ND filter out there somewhere but, I cannot find it. I believe that it is actually a pair of CPL filters which when cross polarized will cutthe light drastically.

Singh-Ray Vari-ND is the one you're thinking of...only available in two sizes (77mm and 82mm). Little pricey, and you can't combine it with a CPL. Supposedly, they're working on a new version that will work with a CPL.
