A nice set of shots, the colours are particuarly good.

I like the DOF in shot #1, it works well.

#7 is the best of the bunch though I reckon, good sense of effort!

Yeah I wanted like a sick side shot of him but never got it!
Thanks I am trying to sell some as we speak..... here is a brief on what happened to David Clinger for having Tattoos on his face

"Cyclist David Clinger, former teammate of Lance Armstrong, has been temporarily kicked from his new team, Webcor, when he showed up at training camp sporting a Maori-style face and scalp tattoo. Now, under pressure from family and teammates, he is already undergoing laser surgery treatments, which could take up to a year or more to remove the tattoo completely. His eventual fate with the team is still undecided."

He now rides for Rock racing tats and all!

Hi Ian:
Have you thought of using a selected focus point to ensure your subject is in focus? It seems that whenever I don't use a user selected one, the camera gets the back rider in focus and the front rider not in focus and of course I only see that when I get home an start looking at the photos on the monitor. This would have helped get the front rider in the first photo sharp and the trailing rider out.

Regards
Rick

Great shots. For # 1, I would have preferred the forward subject to be in focus, which is much more conventional for cycling. # 7 is a great shot. Too bad your angle doesn't reveal the steepness of the grade at that point, although with their crank angles and the rear guy sucking tire, it must be steep!!;)

^^^^^ Much better. BTW - Some serious balls on the rear guy. Easy to get drawn in and get half-wheeled when sucking tire down a steep grade.

Rick how is it going! I had center point on most of these shots. that first was me being pre focused were the back guy was. I will try and make more races this summer but that depends if I attend the local Police Academy or not.
