Today was my last birding ID class for the spring and we were lucky to come across this common nighthawk which is a new bird for me. We also spotted this cedar waxwing which is a new photographed bird for me.

Nice shots. Anke

Here is another shot of the waxwing that I hadn't yet processed before posting. Gary Fairhead wrote in post #5632845 The Nighthawk is a bird I have been dreaming of photographing so I am a little envious here...very nice also of the Cedar Waxwing.. Thanks Gary! It's funny, but a girl that had never been to the class before spotted it, not having any idea what it was. That's the nice thing about being with several people, lots of eyes looking around. Yes, the nighthhawk is in the nightjar family here, along with whippoorwills, Chuck Wills Widows and several others I think. Thanks! Michele
