wow, the movement in the water is stunning!! How do you train the digital camera to do that?

Just a combination of ISO, aperture and shutter speed. Slowing down the shutter speed will give the silky effect to any moving water, but you need to be careful and not overdo it...too slow of a shutter speed, and the water starts to take on a cloud-like appearance without any definition. I also used a CPL to boost up the saturation and enhance the reflections on the surface of the water. Hope that answers your question.

Had several emails asking if this is an HDR image, so thought I'd answer all at once here. No, not HDR (although I can see why folks have asked). This was a single image taken with the 5D/24-105L and a Kaesemann CPL for saturation boost and reflection control. As a last PP step, I added a local contrast enhancement layer that gives the picture its 'pop'. Hope this answers everyone's questions...

I don't think the tree is a problem, what bothers me the the difference in brightness between the left and the right sides. Otherwise great shot.

That's just the way the falls are naturally laid out. There's a grotto on the left side that's recessed back a bit...that area doesn't get the morning glow/reflections from the cliffs that overlook the falls. If you follow the golden reflection line on the water, it lines up with the lighter colored sandstone on the right side of the falls. The highlights aren't blown, and I'm pretty much satisfied with the left side. Twenty minutes after this shot was taken, the reflections were gone and the water was pretty much non-descript in full sun.

No, the highlights don't look blown, it's not a big deal. If I had the RAW though, I would try evening out the exposure using blending.
