Well done. Very good action shots.

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.
I have a Cannon with me at all times. You can't take the shot if you don't have something with which to shoot.

mind if i ask what equipment and settings you used? I (try) shooting kickboxing quite often and mine all turn out very noisy and a lot of motion blur. I can't seem to nail it.

In a nutshell, fast glass and higher iso's.

The light in the upper right-hand corner is one the of four used to illuminate the event. I'm used to working with less than stellar lighting, though at first I had the same issues you did.

Very nice action shots! Did you do any PP to reduce noise or are these as is(was?)?

Thanks. Generally speaking, the extent of "noise reduction" I do is to reduce achromatic noise ie. blue and red spotting. I don't try and reduce the grain, as it results in a softer image. Those images above are about as "noisy" as I'll allow. I often shoot MMA at the same iso, but I was forced to shoot a little faster this time around as it was 100% stand-up action.

Great Action Shots. I have an opportunity to do a match coming up and also would like to know what glass you were using? The ring I am shooting apparently also has a spot above for spectators too. Any tips you can offer? What glass gave you the best results? Thanks in advance.

I really like #4 & #5. The muscle definition in the boxers arm in #4 and the facial deformation from the punch in #5 are both great details!
