exposure lock, and if cfn 4 is set to 1 or 3, then AF-on

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

So say for instance i want to take a shot as a silhouette? I use that lock in on settings and recompose my shot and snap? I know i can do it by pressing shutter release button half way and aim for the desired shot and go from there but is this the same idea different steps?

It's right on page 17 of the manual as well as 84,85, 116,118, and 142.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Pretty much the same idea, but if you use your shutter button to focus and also to lock your exposure it's gonna have an improper focus on the subject. So it would be better to exposure lock, recompose, focus, and take the shot. Or you could just use manual or change the buttons around.

CLICK

It's a discussion of that button and why people use it or not use it. Good reading.
