Hi,

I've been lurking for a few weeks and enjoying all the wonderful pictures here. Unfortunately, I can't afford the nice cameras and lenses, and my skill level isn't very high, so my pictures don't even come close to what all of you guys post.

I feel a little silly even posting my pictures here when the others are so much better, but I'm hoping I'll be able to learn a few things and improve.

The pictures were taken in April at Walt Disney World with the SX100. I only had the camera a couple of weeks before the trip, so it was really the first major outing with it.

I read the manual and tried to learn about and explore the camera as much as possible, but I'm sure there are still tons of things I don't know. I'm hoping someone will be able to give some hints or tips or tell me what settings could have been used to improve the pictures.

I didn't crop any of the images, only resized them to fit within the guidelines here.

This was taken in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom. There are lots of these birds hanging around and looking for any food people may have left behind.

This is a spectacled owl brought out at the conclusion of the really cool Flights of Wonder bird show at Animal Kingdom.
