At yesterday's game, I caught this shot and just today got permission to post.

It's not really a BOB, I think the ball sort of tipped over the bat, but there is a wee bit of compression of the ball into the bat I think as it tipped over. But what struck me was his whole face is in plain view, unusual (at least from what I have seen here), for a BOB shot.

There is a bit of motion blur on the end of the bat, my shutter probably wasn't fast enough, or I moved or something.

It is not my intent to start another BOB thread, it's just that I thought it so unusual that his face is in plain view. The mom of course wants this shot.

Pat

Having coached LL and taken many photos of LL, you sure wish the kids would see the ball hit the bat. Most kids are still looking at the pitcher when the ball crosses the plate. Nice timing and the motion blur is fine for me, shows motion and action. You may want to try boosting the exposure slightly to lighten up the face. My 2cents...

I have taken alot of pictures with the batters looking at something other than the ball. Most of the times it seems I'll get pictures of them looking at the ball more when they do not swing.

BTW...maybe it is an optical illusion, but it looks like the young guy has not even got his bat to the ball yet. WAY late on the swing.

It often gets no better, even in the pro's:
