I used wire cutters.

Wrap a rubber band around the gels first, so they don't go flying everywhere.

use pliers and twist off. One end is a threaded cap. Wish I took Curtis's advice and used rubber band when I did it....

I used a needle nose pliers on each end and twisted like mad. I guess that is Rosco's way of getting back at us for using the samples as flash gels...... :)

Don't use your teeth, trust me. ;)

Where can you get these gel samples now? Every link I have found does not work.

B&H gets them in, but they go in a hurry. You can sign up for email notification for when they get in stock. I had to try 4 times before I got a set ordered. You have to pay a penny each and $5 for shipping, I ordered 3 when I finally had a chance. You can also go to the Rosco website and look for the sign-up form for a free book.

There are also other companies that make gels, so you can try them. I got a set from Apollo, and I actually prefer their gels to Rosco's (more durable, slightly larger), although you don't get nearly as many of them. You can sign up on their website for samples as well.

Wow! I appreciate your effort. I guess the closest to me is Knoxville. Next time I'm up there, I'll give the place a look-see.:)

I found this while looking online. http://www.stagespot.com …WATCH/Gel%20Swatch%20Book (external link)
looks like someone decided to make some cash off these instead of giving them away. but if you can't wait, I guess $3+ Shipping isn't bad. now who knows if they have them in stock.

Adorama sells them for $3.95 plus shipping as well. They usually have them in stock, but not right now. Shipping is $8 to me though. :( I don't think they charged me that much for shipping when I got my Kata backpack from them.
