I have S3 and what is wrong with saying it is amazing?
espacialy when it's true, for it's size and price of course,
you can't compare with a 10 000$ setup...

LOL! You call the S3 " amazing camera"

It IS an amazing camera. No question about it. If you understood anything about photography or the S5 that you own, then you would think so as well.

However, based on the pictures I've seen you post at the S3/S5 users forum (See HERE (external link)), I understand why you may not think so. (btw, SimpleGirl2008 = Tigger at the S5users forum) Oh yes, you also demonstrated in the thread I've attached, that you have no idea what the difference is between macro and telephoto - yet you question someone who actual knows something about photography categorizing the S3 as "amazing".

PS. Here is another one of your threads showing your grasp of the S5. HERE (external link)

I point these things out as I think it's important for folks here to get an idea about your level of knowledge and skill (or lack thereof) when weighing your comments.

Edit: just wanted to include a couple of "average" photos I took last week with an *amazing* camera - which I know you've seen already Tigger/SimpleGirl2008 over at the S3/S5 forum.

Now that is LOL funny!- bn23--I second your emotion -the s3 is an amazing camera! The s5 could be too....but nevermind--that is a beaten dead horse! as you demonstrated.
BTW--great shots ---love the straight on closeup of the elephant---do you use the adapter and tp setup? Here's one of mine from today--with circular polarizer on--couldn't resist that "pop" of color!

Hi Beth. I like to have a little "fun" with certain folks on the photography forums that speak so authoritatively about the S3/S5 (or other photography topics) yet barely know how to take off the lenscap. ;)

BTW--great shots ---love the straight on closeup of the elephant---do you use the adapter and tp setup?

Thank you! :) I always have my lensmate 58mm adapter and a UV filter on my S3. I believe I used my Sony 1758 TC on the Tiger shot and the 2nd elephant shot however I was a bit closer on the 1st elephant and Mongolian horses shot so didn't need it. (can't remember about the goat shot).

Here's one of mine from today--with circular polarizer on--couldn't resist that "pop" of color!

Very nice Beth. Lovely colour and nicely done re: the selective focus.

Nice to see how these cameras are truly "amazing" in the right hands ;)

Have a nice evening.

 Funny thread SimpleGirl.

Jokes aside, I totally agree with everyone that the S3 is an amazing camera. It was definitely the most versatile P&S I've ever used and I was sad to have let it go.

the IQ is better with the S3, if you can live without a hot shoe, also
the rumor mill been saying the new S6 is ready to hit the market the end of
July 1st of Aug might have a new lens giving at 28mm to 4xx which would be nice
