Hi every one! i am a new member!
I have a problem with my new camera: i have bought a new ixy1000 for my holiday, i also bought a 4gb-SD card for it!
Everything is well until a day, i recognize a problem:

My camera work well with my card, i can take photos, review, format..., when i connect my camera to the pc, i also transfer pictures from my card to the pc!

But there is a problem, when i remove the card from the camera, and connect it to the pc with a card-reader or with a card-reader-built-in, the pc can't recognize my card (the capacity is announced 0 kb), so i can't take my photos this way, and terribly with me, i can't recovery my pictures. I have had to roam many days to take these photos, unfortunaly format it and now.....
So, please, if you have experienced this case, please tell me what i have to do, !!!!:confused::confused::confused::confused:, I try some recovery-softwares but ineffective, the pc can't read the card!!!!:(:(:(:(

Thanks for spend your time for my problems!

Perhaps your card reader needs it’s own driver to be installed first..
Did you get any software with it?
Which card reader are you taling about?
Make, model, link to the site where you bought it?

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

Your 4 GB card is almost certainly an SDHC card; if your reader isn't also SDHC, it won't work. You need to buy an SDHC reader. That will be able to handle the older SD cards as well as the newer SDHC standard.

Thanks! But it is really a SD card! I wanna find a software that can read the card and recovery files from my camera, so i can take the files missing by using this way! Have anybody ever seen this software like this!!!

There are many topics about recovering files.

Here is one with links to software.

If it really is an SD card, not the newer SDHC card, it doesn't meet the SD standard, which doesn't cover cards beyond 2 GB. Check this thread for more. Essentially, the maker would have had to try to play tricks with the card to get over 2 GB of memory addressable, and not all devices can cope with all the variations that makers may have made.

If, on the other hand, it's an SD-form factor card meeting the SDHC specification, you positively need an SDHC-compliant reader; the electronics on the reader must support SDHC.
