I'm going to pull the trigger on a 70-200 2.8 IS from B&H.
They have 5 options for shipping. Any Canadians have words of wisdom on which one is best any why?

You should note that if you order over the internet, B&H will only ship to your credit card billing address (likely your home). If you call in your order you may be able to arrange for shipment to another address such as your work location. If you haven't visited this website, Photoprice.ca I recommend that you visit it (www.photoprice.ca ![]() Great information. Ken

I got $6500 worth of stuff and only paid $108 total with brokerage fees (on a 33 lb oversize package). Had I gone the other ways, I would've paid out the nose. I once bought a $200 lens and ended up paying $45 in brokerage fees (on top of $25 shipping) from FedEx.

It is always USPS or Fed Ex. UPS is the one who tacks on the extra $30-$45 brokerage fee when the company doesn't use the special borderfree shipping methods. (I once paid $40 to receive a wedding gift -- a hand knit blanket from a relative that she sent via UPS and happened to mark the value at $100) ••Vancouver Wedding Photographer

You are right. Shipping from Adorama is $58.20 for FedEx International Priority . B&H is $93. I wonder if B&H offsets the price of the item and puts it into the shipping charge. Ken

For details, read: http://www.photoprice.ca …uty-brokerage-demystified ![]() Yeah... the last package I had from FedEx came via ground. I'm not saying that they always charge brokerage, just that you have to be careful no matter who you go with.

Nope, not in my case ... I wasn't made aware of the brokerage fee by KEH and nothing showed on the invoice that was emailed. Basically, my wife ended up paying it out of cash lying around othrwise I wasn't getting my stuff.

These suits are relating to the hidden brokerage charges in their ground services -- just go with non-ground service and you'll be fine.
