Decided to go to the Touring Cars on the Sunday instead of the Saturday for a change. Bad idea as Saturday was glorious sunshine and Sunday the complete opposite.

The rain started as soon as I got there and just got heavier as the morning went on. By the time I decided to leave I was soaked through and the camera bag was getting water logged.

I spent most of the morning cowering in the garage next to the scrutineering bay, only venturing out to do the pit lane walk about (See other thread - https://photography-on-the.net …php?p=5641480#post5641480). I then made my way to the end of the start finish straight and managed to get a spot next to fence. I have never seen so many people and was lucky to get the spot I did although not ideal.

And so to the photos which are not brilliant do to various reason including not be able to see much through the view finder doe to it steaming up. Would have been easier if I had just closed my eyes and pointed the lens in the general direction of the action

I have never seen this amount of water on the track. Its was more like a ford on a rally

Most made it through just to get caught out on the next bend. BTW, sales of umbrellas jumped through the roof

It was unbelievably wet Ian. Even the infamous RallyCross snowstorm and the F3/GT monsoon a couple of years back weren't as bad.
We knew it was going to be one of those days when Plato put it into the Clervaux gravel on the warm-up and then Course car got a twitch on at almost the same spot. :D

Peter, that 3rd shot of the restart is very nice. It shows exactly the sort of visibilty the drivers had to race with. They're all a perfect answer to all the whining i've heard about the delays too.

What a dreadful day,Appalling !
Well done for sticking at and getting the camera out.
The pictures are really good considering the weather.
Roll on summer.
