Finally got round to sorting out my pictures, from the saturday at least. It was my first motorsport shoot so got a bit carried away, but a lot of them were rubbish anyway  Here's a few that I've kept. C&C welcome.

Sweet photo's. When did this happen?? I completely missed it.

You look to have got the shutter speed nice, but the colours in 1 look slightly washed out. Maybe could do with a tad more saturation.

2 is lovely, my favourite.

Did you do the curves on the Porsche? The livery looks a little blown out to me.

Very good though, just being picky!! :)

Kind regards,
Andy

Thanks for the comments. This was back at the beginning of may but my PC is so slow (and I've been pretty busy) that I've only just finished going through the saturday photos.

I started with a shutter of 1/320 and but tried all the way down to 1/100. Rather unsurprisngly my success rate dropped along with the shutter speed :)

Haven't done any more to the images than adjust the levels and contrast, crop, resize and then sharpen (see my pc comment above :) )

All in all as it was my first attempt I got more "keepers" than I hoped for. There's more on http://www.ingsthings.co.uk (external link)

What lens are you using there? I notice a lot of them are at 75mm

Kind regards,
Andy

I've got one! I was using a canon 75-300 borrowed from a bloke at work which I've now given back. I'm looking at getting myself something of similar length.

watch the sharpenin in photoshop - most appear to have a bit to much.

they are also a bit flat - maybe a bit of contrast and a little sats.

I'll be honest and say I took the lazy option with the sharpening - Auto. I figured that it would know better than me! Now I've found another thing I have ot learn :)

As for the colours - maybe my monitor is not configured properly - something I need to look into.

Thanks for the comments, I'm trying to learn from everything so that they come out a little bit better each time I take some!
