My friend is a up and coming House DJ in Chicago, we had to start rushing his website because of the gig's he's been booking.

This is just the splash page but is sort of lining up the creative direction of the website.

Any C&C is welcome.

I originally had it layed out like that but thought I should add a bit more. Maybe texturize the background or add some brushes. maybe I should keep it simple :) Thanks for the input.

If I just happened to fall upon that page while browsing, I would have no idea what its about. I agree with changing up the backgroud.... maybe add more pictures of him and his craft, and Id make the play button larger so it would be easier for the person browsing to find it... It surprised me when i saw it all lonely at the bottom....

It's a splash page. Not the website. I originally just set that to autoplay, but the script won't let the person turn off the music (which is annoying). btw what browser are your using?

I like the back ground color, but why do people always insist on using splash pages? There are only a few times when splash pages are useful and those are...

1.) Country Selection Page
2.) Language Selection Page
3.) Artist info about buying a new CD
4.) Anyother type of pre selective info.

Splash pages are ultimately delaying the person browsing to the site from getting to the information they actually want to see. Having one can hurt your search rankings too. Some search engines, like google I believe, will actually look at the test on your home page (first page) it judges that info as the most important in search results, and anything on following pages as not as important. So by pushing the home page back, you could possible be hurting search results with the site.

Some people love them, I see their need, but not when they are just used for no reason. I work in web, so I have seen the good and bad uses. When I attend web conferences, they seem to be preached against as well.
