Canon neck strap question. (EW 100 DGR vs. EW 100 DB II)

When I got my 30D it was supposed to come with a EW-100 DGR neck strap. I thought this was canon's "wide" neck strap and is black with red trim.

I received the package, sealed from Canon and it came with the same strap that came with my rebel XT. I think it's called the EW-100 DB II? It says "Canon EOS" on one side and "digital" on the other side I think.

I could care less what color my strap is or what is written on it but was under the impression that the EW-100 DGR that it was supposed to come with was wider than the strap that came with the XT.

Anyone know if there is any difference in width between them? They will exchange it for me but I don't want to waste my time for nothing.

I honestly couldn't tell you offhand. I think I have both, but neither have been on my cameras since the POTN strap came out (see link at top of page to POTN Shop). If pressed, I think I remember the black with white paint strap that came with my D60 was maybe 1/4" or so narroer than the embroidered one that came with my 20D. The straps for the 5D and 1D3 haven't even made it out of the wrapping. Just order the POTN strap and enjoy!

Ya, toss the Canon straps. They're way too narrow and you can't easily remove/shorten them if you want them out of the way. I'd suggest an Op/Tech (POTN) strap. Very comfortable, holds a lot of weight and you can easily remove the shoulder strap part and click the two ends together to keep it out of your way when not needed.

Op/Tech Pro Loop all the way! Forget the Canon ones!

I don't use the neck strap much. Usually wrap it around my hand if anything. It was more a matter of getting what I paid for which led to genuine curiosity. I'm not going to worry about it I guess.
