Last saturday I went to a big Tabletennis tournament and I just wanted to do something different from the usual action that I shoot. So I decided to focus on the coaching part of the matches. Since it was the final event of a national tournament the kids where excited but stressed also, you can imagine what kind of pictures follow..

I especially like some comments on the B&W conversion, any tips?

UPDATE: Added the colour version of two pictures.

These are REALLY good. You captured the intensity of the event. I love the way you caught them in # 1, looking away from each other because they are so focused on what's next, while still reaching out toward each other to give a confident low-five. ... This singular moment captures the essence of what they were feeling. ;) Oh, and one more thing, the BW is perfect for this. Good decision.

#1 is my personal favourite

I like the shots but don't like the B&W at all...B&W works for some shots but these do not have that feel. Any way to post the color versions to compare?

I added two colour versions, these were already up at my Flickr gallery.

I definately like the color better, but I've just always been biased against B&W shots - just my personal preference as I envision different type shots as B&W that have a certain "feel" to them (whatever that means). The only one thats popping in my head right now is a boxing shot, who it was of, who took it, no clue - all I remember is it was a portrait and amazing B&W work.

As for being on flickr, very rare for me to go searching peoples sites as time is usually an issue.

Very nice, I like the way you took a different approach as opposed to just shooting action.
