Hmmm now there's something to consider.

What's worse for the environment; Alkaline batteries, or 2 and a half years of dirty diapers?

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

(back on track) Try the PowerEx batteries with Maha chargers, the C-9000 is meant to be particularly good.

Not if you read some of the forums! People have had problems with the charger overcharging some batteries, stuff like that - not very good for a charger that is supposed to be "the most advanced Maha product development so far, and the most significant new product release in 5 years"... :(

EDIT: It looks like Maha updated the firmware in that charger a little while ago... hopefully this sorted most of the problems.

cbrown, I am not sure if this pertains to the CP-E4 power pack, I use a Quantum Turbo 2x2 and when using the 580EX or 580 EXII there are certain steps I need to do in order for the power pack to be used. I 1st must have all cables connected to the flash, the power pack must be turned on 1st then the flash is turned on, if I don't do this way the flash does not use the power pack.

If you check the Quantum web site, they'll tell you to turn on the Turbo pack last.

But I've done it both ways and it really didn't make any difference as far as I could tell.

LOL, so do *I* now. Did some more research and ended up buying one! :)

Here is the link to the (old) info. As I mentioned previously, Maha has updated the firmware at least once since the early days, and all current chargers work great.
