This is my first time taking pictures at a girls softball game. I am just a beginner but my dad is jealous because some of his dont turn out this good with his 40D.

Try for a higher shutter speed to "Freeze" the bat and ball in the first one

Second one looks OOF for me.

Out of focus on me computer. He is right about making the shutter speed higher.

Very nice caputres KillerM. Your timing in #1 is excellent. The colors from the PowerShot are indeed nice IMHO. Keep shooting and having fun :)

Can he increase the shutter speed on the PowerShot 1000? Not bad for 8 years old. Keep up the good work!
