Nowadays a variety of websites allows you to simply store all your photos online, and let everyone else see them.

For a long time, Printed portfolios were an important part -and they may still be- for getting a job.

The same way a Wedding Photographer may want to showcase their best sample images to a prospective couple, the press photographer wants to get the editor's attention and showcase his versatility within all 15-30 seconds of his attention span.

The question is:

Do you have a printable portfolio? Do you use it?

If you do, would you mind a link to your site or ftp where it can be viewed?

If you have an Online portfolio (meaning HTML or other, not easily printable for a face to face interview), would you mind sharing the link and telling us how it has worked for you so far?

The idea is to see what the mainstream is, and also share each point of view when showcasing your own Photo Samples.

I am remaking mine, which is 2 years old now.

But I like to use it, the visual version of my resume.

Often I even have a binder with me, with tearsheets of my own work that was published (cover pages, awards, etc).

I use the online galleries, but nothing like paper when face to face. It draws attention to the images, and focus.

A short time ago my friend Matt started a forum and site called PhotoBizarre. To be honest, it's almost all the forum members of ProbeTalk.com than have moved on and express a great deal of interest and enthusiasm in photography. I've used it as my portfolio as of late. And I've never printed anything I've used in it.

We have a gallery of photos on our website for potential clients to view, and I also have a print portfolio that I use during client meetings. Looking to get a sample album printed soon(for demonstration purposes for clients) and a proof book(for the same reason). I think it's easier to sell something if they can see an example.
