Hi all,
Finally, bought Canon G9 on my holiday for my pocket camera when I don't want to drag the dslr around. So far really happy with it, owned it for 2 weeks and shooting about 300 photos. However today I noticed I hear some noise from inside the camera, it sound like when lens auto-focusing on AI-servo mode(continuosly focusing and the sound is like from 50mm 1.8 lens) though its not as loud as the EF 50mm, but its quite noticeable. I found out if I set display off it does not make that noise, turning of IS does not rid the sound so I guess it has nothing to do with the IS, but the mechanism for the LCD display. It just start happen today, back after holiday :(. Other than that everything still working fine, it still take good photo but the sound does not give me a peaceful feeling, :(

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Maybe see if it gets louder/changes sound over time?

it is the AutoFocus
goto Menu, AF Mode, and change it to single

now the noise will go away
