too much rotation before contact.

the bokeh in the 1st shot looks weird, given the gear you were shooting with, I would think that the background would be smoother

I Like the shots.
Smoother bokeh will really work great though. Also the white shirt is blown out due to sun.

Well, how can I improve the Bokeh on these shots?

Shooting with 70-200 IS

Was shooting wide open.

Here are two more, first one I blurred the background (I know, a cardinal sin) and the second one no changes, just his finish.

He is just getting back into golf this year after not playing for a couple of years. This is the first time playing with his new clubs (mens clubs). He is just 13 and only 5'5" 100lbs. When he gets back to taking lessons, I am sure we can work out his footwork problems, etc... I was showing him the photos and telling him his back foot should not be coming off the ground.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions for making the photos better.

now i can put my finger to it,

the purple flowers on the trees in the background throws the entire color feel of the image.

initially I thought was time to recalibrate my lcd, but i realised that it's the flowers.

You can change its intensity buy adjusting the aperture or the distances between the camera, subject and background. As for its quality, I’ve always been under the impression that the Bokeh quality is based mostly/only on the quality of the lens.

Hah, I just ordered that driver earlier this week.

When you sharpen, try to do it in layers and use the history brush to undo the sharpening on the OOF areas. Assuming you're using photoshop...

Either way, good captures!
