I want to pickup a couple more batteries for the 40d's grip. What would be a good charger to get so I can charge more than one battery at a time? Or should I just get another CG-580 canon charger?

I have an Energizer Uni-Charger which I use with my 400D. Works just fine. There is a Duo version of it that can charge two batteries at once. It's not a particularly cost-effective way of doing it as you [presumably] have to get a second canon battery plate, but it would give you a fair amount of flexibility for charging all sorts of battery types...

HTH,

Jim

In addition to a good line of replacement batteries, Sterlingtek (external link) sells chargers for them.

If you wanted a REALLY great charger:

Or its improved new version for a little more:

The website has all kinds of other chargers and I know they have the best prices on the professional ones, maybe the same is true for the cheaper ones...

edit: of course if you wanted to use the grip with 6 AA baterries...

Seen this from Delkin (external link)? Battery plates available for NB2L batteries (external link) or AA cells (external link) as well. I don't know how fast or durable it is; having had one (other brand) battery charger die on me while traveling, I prefer to carry two chargers rather than risk a single point of failure.

I dont know but 50 for a charger is a little sleep for me, I would rather get a knock off single point

Expensive chargers make all the difference in the longevity of your batteries. I have and highly recommend the Maha C9000.

I suppose, I have the La Crosse BC900 which is really good, Im just not convinced the money on that guy is well spent on similar technology
