Wondering if anyone on here with Elinchrom heads has the hard travel case (external link).
I am trying to decide on a case and wondering whether to go with that or a Tenba or Lightware. The other cases will hold more "stuff" even more heads and don't advertise "Elinchrom" on the side. The Elinchrom case of course is made for the heads so might be more protective. Thoughts or Feedback from someone with the Elinchrom case would be appreciated. TIA.

The Elinchrom case is kinda like a big plastic lunchbox with some foam inserts. It's really really cheezy :) I don't trust their cases and have never used them even though 2 of my Elinchrom lighting kits came with them

I've got a Ranger system in a tenba flight case that works great....also have some lightware cases for stands. You can't go wrong with either tenba or lightware. Both are made very well, it's just a matter of finding which company provides the right sizes and dimensions of case for your particular needs

Thanks. Thats helpful. I was leaning to a Tenba and will probably go with it. I just didn't want to hear that the Elin was made for the lights and I was crazy not to use it AFTER buying the Tenba!

I wouldn't buy the Elinchrom case separately, but if it comes with the kit, I'd definitely use it. It really depends how often you travel, and how much punishment you subject your gear to. Ultimately, if I was going to really rought it, I would not trust anything else but a Pelican case... and when you think about it, they're kinda cheesy too, with their foam inserts and whatnot! :)
