I had my XTi/400D for over 1 month and now that i know most of the basic stuff, im looking to get a tripod. Since im a a very low budget :(, im looking for a tripod in the price range of $20-$40 (lowest if possible).

I also need cleaning accessories and such. My sensor shouldnt get dirty any time soon so.... i just need something to clean my lens/camera and things of that nature. Sensor cleaning accessories would be noted for later use though.
Im basically looking for something cheap/bang for your $ on cleaning accessories.

Thanks!

There is no tripod available new for $40 that is really worth buying. You can get by using beanbags until you can save up something just short of $300 (US) and get a worthwhile tripod for your expensive equipment.

If you really MUST have a cheap tripod, just go to Wal-Mart and get the best they have. Don't expect it to hold your camera rock-solid steady, and expect it to start slipping or even fall apart if you use it much.

For tripods their are tons of threads all over this forum. Their is even a sticky at the top about tripods. Conventional wisdom will tell you that a tripod in the $20-$40 range will not be any good. Most people on here will recommend the Bogen 055xProB and a 488RC2 head. Cleaning accessory wise I would just go with at Giottos Rocket Blower.

When you really think about your investment in a good tripod it is worth it. I use my tripod almost everyday. It has to stand up to daily abuse, and hold a camera stable. I do not want to put between 5-7k or more worth of gear on a cheap tripod. For me spending at least 100 bucks on a tripod would make a lot of since. I spent around 200 bucks on my legs and I am more than happy with them.

My recommendation is to reconsider your tripod budget. Use the $20-40 to buy your cleaning accessories such as a micro-cloth, lenspen, and rocket blower.

Thanks for all the recommendations, I think i will just take a trip to best buy or something to get a cheap tripod for NOW, since i have a camping trip coming up and im on a low budget. Then in the future I will certainly upgrade it! Well for the cleaning accessories, is there a specific brand i should look into? or are they basically all the same?

Truly, it is a waste of money.
