It looks pretty wide open as well..... I am off at 3 o'clock to shoot my bride getting ready. Wedding is at 5:30 p.m. I used a Tamron 28-75 2.8 for the entire wedding! It is my favorite lens. I have "better" but not at that range. I use this lens on 90% of everything I do. Kathy H
