Gee, all this talk about weddings and grandkids. I'm kind of jealous, but not really. I'm so busy.

Kathy, I was going to tell you that Maureen's been shooting with that 28-75 Tammy for a long time. Great lens. I opted for the 24-70 and never looked back. But I had the money at the time, a small miracle. :)

Life is good, but I'm so tired. The last week was a killer and I have tons to do, but I met some amazing people. I met a woman that works for a company that handles celebrities and organizes the Emmys and other events. She showed us some pictures of celebrities in real life and how unattractive they really are. So, it was interesting when she showed the touched up images. Wow. What a transformation. Those worked on images were so beautiful and no where near real life.

The brick is not for the cropped body, IMO if you can get the 17-55. I see a lot of pros locally who use the 17-55 most of the time. So, I think Jim is right, that lens is also wonderful.

That makes sense, Jim. The Brick is somewhat wasted on a crop body.

On the crop body, however, the brick is an awesome portrait lens. Other than that, Tom, I agree with you.

Evening everyone.

Just got back from a spending spree on stuff for the iguana's room. Didn't do much shooting this weekend except harassing the cats.

And I just bit my tongue in another thread. It's fun when people make comments that really are unrelated to the photograph itself.

The brick huh? May I ask why it's called the Brick? Is it heavy? Jim said it's a good portrait lens, the majority of my business is portrait work.

I have a Canon 17-55 2.8 and must agree that I do love it also, I just seem to keep coming back to the Tamron 28-75, it works so well for portraits or small groups.

Is it heavy? HA HA HA . . :) LOL LOL

You kill me, Kathy! I've almost killed a few subjects with that lens, and didn't mean to. It's so heavy, it's like carrying around a large can of chicken noodle soup all day around your neck. But don't get me wrong. After using the brick for a year, the 70-200 2.8 IS is nothing!

Perfect timing, I'm on my way to bed, I get baby Ami in the morning.

It weighs as much as a brick maybe more! It is heavy...

Making an action is pretty easy. I'm sure adjusting the signature might be a bit tricky, but as far as the frame, it's a piece of cake, let me know how it goes.

Night night all

I'm here for a little bit. I just did a blog entry that has nothing at all to do with wedding photography, but had my wife laughing her butt off.

Please give a read if you get the chance (external link).

I'm burning DVD's all night long...and then my inlaws will be here at the butt crack of dawn...Father in law will work on the deck...and mother in law will wait impatiently for the girls to awaken...

OMG Chris! That is the most wonderful picture of the cat yet! The one in the carrier is FANTASTIC! That is a money shot for sure, you need to get that one out there for sale somehow. I would contact the makers of that carrier and show it to them! Show it to baby stores that sell that product. IT IS WONDERFUL!

The reading was so funny I was in tears, I had to go get kleenex and clean up before I could finish reading it! LOVED IT!

That little iguana is going to be lucky to have a dad as fun as you!:D

Thanks! We've got a few other things that I can have him review and I'm going to be doing that over the coming weeks. He's such a malleable cat and well tempered. He was purring while in the Papasan.

I have been inspired and my cat may be doing some serious modeling this week. My cat is very relaxed, good natured, and well tempered

BUT..........MALLEABLE! I had a different definition of that word so I had to look it up.

According to The Merriam-Webster Dictionary:
malleable 1. capable of being extended or shaped by beating with a hammer or by pressure of rollers.

That was my idea of malleable.

You must have been going with definition 2. adaptable, pliable

Now I have tears of laughter again!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Yeah, I was going with the second definition as my rollers and mallet are both in the shop at the moment.

In all seriousness though, he was not hurt, nor was he struggling at all during these photos. I would never do anything to hurt my pets. They're too dear to me.
