It was county up until last year when they passed the vote to expand the city, so now we are kind of both. lol It's zoned residential/commercial but, they have divided most of the places around us into housing developments and we fought to keep our property undivided for now which means we have to stay at one family home and one business per owner. We even have city water AND our own well. They allow us to still use the well but if we ever sell, the new owners won't have the option, they will have to be on city water & sewer. It is kind of a mess!

Wow... "crook county" - heh, sounds about right...

A friend of ours bought some land in the Sierra foothills, and built a big, two-story house on it. He heated it with wood, and it worked very well. We stayed with him one weekend, and it snowed. It got very chilly in the house overnight, but it was quite comfortable less than a half hour after he lit the stove.

We will keep the electric heat intact and turned down low so that it never gets too cold if the fire goes out, but with the hours we work, one of us will easily be able to add wood to keep the house warm. The longest stretch of time that neither of us is home is only 4 hours and the damn things better hold a fire for longer than that!

You got that right! And the name suits it well!

Votes don't seem to be counted right around here much, it is mostly just what the "City Fathers" want.

BUT......there has only been one murder here in the last 30 years! Crime is pretty small here and THAT I do like.

City Fathers.... hmmm, they can't live forever :-D

Chris glad to hear you escaped the surgery! YIPPEE! How's the baby/iguana progress going, are you any where near ready for her to arrive?

Yeah, I'm quite pleased over that one, too.

We're getting closer and closer for her arrival. This weekend, we're getting a small freezer for food and possibly milk and next weekend, we'll be putting in a water softener and reverse osmosis unit for better quality water (we've been meaning to do this for a while). The room is pretty much done, I need to figure out if I'm going to refinish a rocking chair that Kim has or not. It's a dark stain and everything we have is a natural finish.

We'll see.

I wish I would have taken before pictures!

We started out with some minor adjustments to the family room for a wood stove to be installed. ...............Well, now there will be 2 wood stoves, one at each end of the house. We converted what used to be a mud room & storage/pantry rooms. We knocked out a wall so now it is one 17 X 15 room, complete with hardwood floors, painted walls, ceiling fan/light, windows, etc. I don't know what kind of room it will end up being, maybe just a guest den type thing. We have way to much house for the two of us!

I'm going to take pictures of our home, but trust me no one will see them until some work is done on the house, LOL

Night Lisa!

BTW was the park you went to by any chance Forest Park?

I believe I live by Forest Park. But the Park I was talking about is a city park off of Old Mexico Road, by city hall in St. Peters. It's not big but big enough with a double pond, fountain, gazeboo, 3 ball fields, a stream (that kinda smelled bad) and a couple wooden bridges oooo and a rock waterfall. I will find the name Sunday and let you know. We will go there when you come OK!

I will be moving the furniture to the left wall today. Maybe sometime in the next week, I'll put it back on the floor.

<<<opens the door, "Hello? Anyone home?" Notices furniture on ceiling, ceiling fan on floor spinning slowly. Walks up to ceiling fan, turns it off and ties colored streamers to each of the blades and turns it back on. Cool rainbow effect!

Chat with you all later!
