Good Morning, Tom :)

Elaine and I often just go out by ourselves and walk around holding hands. It is a most delightful pastime with your soul mate. I hope you and Lois celebrate your birthday in style and make it a most memorable one.

It's funny you should mention that, Jim. I had an exchange of PMs with one of our bachelor members yesterday who just went on a first date with a young lady who seems to have him captivated. He said they had a delightful time, but there was no kiss.

I told him I thought kissing was really only useful as a precursor to bigger things, and was generally overrated...... that holding hands was the best way to feel close to somebody. Lois and I are always connected that way it seems.

I got my iPhone 3 weeks ago, and I still have neither sent nor received a text message. What's with that?

You better get with it buddy, you're slacking! LOL

How do you like the iPhone? My daughter had a lot of issues with dropped calls with hers. She also said that she had a hard time with the touch screen because she would accidently touch it and get things up on it she didn't want.

I don't have any experience with other smart phones, so I really have no basis for comparison, but I do own an iPod Touch, and I'm used to the user interface and some of the controls. I've had some dropped calls, but I really think that's an AT&T problem. I was an AT&T user when we first moved to the desert 8 years ago, and assumed they'd fixed that by now. Sprint worked much better, and I'm a little sorry I switched, iPhone or not.

I haven't had the problem with the touch screen your daughter had. Once the phone is asleep, you have to press the wakeup button. Just touching the screen does nothing. It's a neat toy, but as a phone, it's just okay. I think I will really appreciate it once I start synchronizing it with my computer (i.e. address book, calendar, itunes, etc.)

It probably was the service she had, she got the iPhone the day they came out because Costco was having a big promo on them.

As far as the pushing unwanted buttons, she it about as high-tech as her mother and we can really get some messes going! LOL

Tom, you are so funny. Can't believe you still wear that same style. Should consider something simpler, would let people see more of your sweet face. :)

Sounds like you are going to eat your way through your birthday, as I did mine. Relax, it's all good. :)

I just got my Verizon Blackberry 8330 yesterday, upgrading from my Motorola Q, which is 2 years old and slow. The thing vibrated while I was in bed, and I thought it was an EARTHQUAKE! my goodness that thing scared me.

Suzy,

I have the pearl and I agree. It vibrates like crazy. I love mine. The only thing you need to watch out for it the track ball. It sometimes gets things in it and gets stuck from time to time. Other than that I wouldn't trade it for anything other than another one if I needed it.

Thanks for the info about the trackball. I have to say, it's a lot smaller than I'm used to, but it so cute. I wish I had an iPhone, though, but I have an iTouch, another PDA, and other gadgets in my little Coach bag. So silly, when I can just have one, but I like my iTouch a lot and that's why I wish we had AT&T just for that. Unfortunately, only Verizon has reception here.

Thanks, Lisa. I wish I hadn't seen that old photo. I suddenly feel very old.

Do you know CPR?

I know infant and child CPR. You'll have to lose some weight before I could perform CPR on you...and cry a lot.

I would expect that to be the case for the father of an Iguana.
