I grew up in Southern California, and spent a lot of time at the beach. Jellyfish were an every day fact of life, and I've been stung by them many times. It is unpleasant, but not fatal. If you' truly love the ocean, you just have to be more attentive. Watch where you're walking.

Our idea of humor, by the way was to push the jellyfish up onto the beach, then bury them under an inch or two of sand. Some unsuspecting schlub would come along and step on it.

Ho, ho, ho.

We really were rotten kids. :o:o:o:o

it was in the water, i was wading across and man that thing got me like three times.

I thought it was a shark it hurt so bad...then I hear a voice in my head say "pee on it"

YEAH OKay...so I walked calmly up the beach got to our house and DIED! OH it hurt for 2 days later..

Okay..

That's better.

It happens every time I go near the ocean. We were there on Monday, and someone mistook me for a Beluga Whale.

I'm doing well. It's been a real lazy day, and I haven't accomplished a thing. Still I'm loving it.

Every time I watch the news, it just sounds worse and worse. Now they're saying the storm is going track back across Florida again?

That's just awful.

It is. It fianlly moved from Daytona and started moving up the coast. So the next 12 to 24 hours are gonna be fun and I have to check in to my new command tomorrow....that is a drive I am not looking forward too.

That's the spirit! We have cyclone season here every year, too, and it's always a pain - even when we don't get hit with the main storm (we almost never, knock wood, get serious damage).
