Just goofing around with my 18 year old Volvo and My G5 to see if I could come up with an industrial looking image while shooting almost directly into the Sun.
I could easily clone the lens flare out, but I thought it was kind of cool. ;)
Let me know what you guys think.

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Bruce, nice positioning, but I don't see a Volvo (Except the trucks) as "industrial"?
I like the idea of the top flare & would darken it some, & take the green "flying flounder" one out.
Oh, & just so you don't feel left out from the other guys, I hate the reflections in the side! :D

Thanks Frank, I should have worded that better by saying; My 18 YO Volvo "in" an industrial setting?
You're right about the flying flounder (now that you mention it). I was just being lazy. Flounder now removed.
Reflections are a love hate thing. Some people hate em, and others love em. Personally, I think they are useful for seeing how straight the panel is. ;)

Just found this thread Bruce - great to see the Volvo is still on the road, and in beautiful shape. I've always been a station wagon guy and when America stopped building them I finally got myself a V70 back in October. Hopefully mine wll last as long as yours :D. - Stu

Thanks Stu, They have a solid reputation for reliability. The heated seats were a blessing when it was cold out. ;)
This body style has been referred to as "The Brick". At first I thought that was because of the boxy styling, but I found the real reason for that when a hit and run artist ran into the rear of it while I was sitting at a Red light. He knocked his front bumper almost off. I didn't really look at mine at the moment as I was busy following him while talking to the police, and describing the car.
When I got to my destination, I walked around back to see what the damage was, and couldn't tell where it was hit. Didn't know they were "that" tough.

You're welcome Bruce :D. This is our first Volvo; I drove a V70 ten years ago and fell in love with the styling, which some would claim to be a contradiction in terms. I guess I equate styling with ergonomic functionality and design: Bang & Olufsen, Hasselblad, Ikea .....

And yes, those heated seats are wonderful when it's -15 outside. Even if the heater hasn't warmed up, once my butt is warm the rest of the body can "deal" with the situation. - Stu

Bruce, your story reminds me of a short lived sitcom from I believe the 80's, called "OOps" about an accidental nuclear war.

One of the survivors had been in his 240DL at an ATM during the moment of attack. There is big flash onscreen and when the video comes back the buildings are in ruins and wreckage is everywhere. However, the Volvo and and driver are sitting there completely unscathed, looking showroom fresh.

Then there is the voiceover: " At 3:30 that afternoon civilization ended leaving the city in ruins. The Volvo however faired much better." My wife and I cracked up; talk about taking their legendary durability to major hyperbole .
