LONNIE! It's good to hear from you! Thanks for the stories... looking forward to having you home and seeing your pics.

Wow Jen. I'm so glad that the issues are correctable with surgery. And no, we won't get sick of you.

I'm glad they are correctable too..... You say that now.... you just wait! ;)

Jon wrote in post #5835045 (external link)
Jenn - glad they've given you a pathway to follow. And I really appreciate that you're holding off on following it until after Linville and environs; now to just hope we don't get stormed out making your sacrifice in vain . . .

Wot? No Goon Show or I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again?

Yes the pathway is a very wonderful thing to finally see!!!! NOW let's not even CONSIDER that it might rain!!!! Hell we can drive far enough to find clear skies!!!!! :p It won't be a sacrifice in vain I can add you to my POTN IRL meet list! :D

Sounds like a fun weekend and good way to end your visit.

Sounds like a bright light at the end of this painful tunnel, Jenn. Good to hear the surgery won't be too invasive.

Hey, Kody, good to see you.

Yes the light is finally there.... and the light got here before I lost my mind! With this in sight I can cope better....

Hello all, not caught up and not squished.

My oldest son Adam was seriously hurt in a logging accident this morning. He is being transported from Roseburg to Portland for surgery on a broken vertebra that if successful, he will be able to continue to walk.
I am completely devastated and trying to be strong for my strong boy. Any and all positive thoughts would be welcomed. I am reminding myself that he is a survivor and has overcome many challenges in his life and this is just one more to show how strong he is.
I will be traveling to be with him and his fiance and without a computer for I have no idea how long.
~Terri

Oh dear heavens Terri!!!! My thoughts and prayers are with your family!!!! Please update us as much as you can!!! (((((((((HUGS TERRI))))))))))

Wow, Jenn. Sounds like you've hooked up with a good Doc, that's nice. Here's to a quick and successful op.

What is it with back injuries?

Terri, we all love you and, while it can never eclipse how you're feeling right now, this affects us all as we're like some weird family. I would like to let you know that your friends here support you with our prayers, thoughts and a kaleidoscope of airs.

I'm just so darn photogenic.

G'MAE, All.

I'm thrilled he's a great doc! Thanks for the well wishes!

Terri I have to +1 what Dan said!!!

Jamie Holladay wrote in post #5837458 (external link)
I hope this works out well for you. You mind the Dr. and do everything he tells you to after the operation. 5lbs means 5lbs not 6lbs .

I hope it works out too... thanks! And if I DO NOT do what the doctor tells me to do... What are YOU going to do about it!?!?! ;) hehehehe Gonna finally come up here and shoot with Dan & I!?!?

cfpackerfan wrote in post #5837611 (external link)

That seriously had me cracking up. In fact it had me PPing.
ROFLMBO!!! More PP!!!!

OMG!!!!! I'm having to clean my monitor now!!!!

Looks great Cat.

I have two pairs of Teva's. One similar to what you bought that I use for paddling, the other is similar but closed in, a lightweight hiker. Both are extremely comfortable.

Get used to it, in their later teens, I hardly saw my kids. Though, I did get to make a chicken Caesar Salad and eat with Caitlin and a friend of heres tonight. Since she broke it off with her boyfriend I do see lots more of her, but she is always bringing friends home and socializing here.

I LOVE my Teva's!!!! I wear them EVERYDAY at work!!!

well, seems everyone knew what Tevas were but me. *feeling sheepish*

Random thought of the day: If Pringles are so good that 'once you pop, you can't stop', why do they come with a resealable lid?

slugs, as a general rule, are pretty ugly, but THAT is a cool shot, of a not so ugly slug.

Another random thought: They make Extra Strength Band-Aids. Is there really someone out there who, after cutting their finger and bleeding all over the house, will look in the medicine cabinet and say, "Golly, it's just a small cut, not nearly deserving an Extra Strength Band-Aid. I wonder if we have any Mediocre Strength or possibly a couple of Sub-Standard Wussy Strength Band-Aids around that would be more suitable for my insignificant gash."

ROFL! Ok, I had to read this out loud, and all of us were laughing. The whole ' insignificant gash' cracked me up.

Very Monty Python-ish.

It's just a flesh wound.

HEY CAT, I didn't forget, just got busy got these two from HERE (external link) they look like they have a lot of good camping recipes, even for pudgy pies. :D Did you ever get pudgy pie makers?

Fiesta Chicken

1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1 Tbsp. Minced Garlic
1/2 Cup Onion, Chopped
1/4 Cup Green Pepper, Chopped
1 Lb. Chicken Breast (boneless, skinless) cut into 1" cubes
3 Tomatoes, Peeled & Diced
2 Cup Broccoli Floweretts (bite-sized pieces), steamed 3 minutes
16 Oz. Pink or Kidney Beans, Drained & Rinsed
1 Cup Pre-made Medium-Hot Salsa
1/4 Cup Cilantro, Chopped
Black Pepper, to taste
Directions:
In a large Dutch Oven, heat the olive oil, add the garlic and onion, and sauté for 3 minutes or until softened. Add the green pepper and sauté for another 2 minutes.

Add remaining ingredients and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Stir gently, reduce heat, cover pot, simmer for 5 to 7 minutes or until the chicken is just done. Check the seasonings before serving.

Campers Pot Roast

4-6 Country Pork or Beef Ribs (best) or 2 lb. Beef Roast (any kind works well)
4 Medium Onions, peeled and sliced into thirds sideways (rings)
6-7 Medium Potatoes (at least 1 per person) peeled & cut in half
1 Large Bag of Baby Carrots (about 1-2 lb)
1/2 Cup Celery Chunks
Salt and Pepper
Bar-B-Que Sauce (optional)
Directions:
Place ribs, potatoes, onions, carrots and celery in large pot or roaster. Cover all with water. Salt (about 1 1/2 teaspoons) and pepper (cover top of water medium to lightly). Place pot on fire and let cook slowly for a couple of hours while you fish, swim or enjoy the outdoors. Dinner is done when you return. To spice it up, remove the meat from the vegetables and place in pan with bar-b-que sauce (meat will be falling off the bones), stir in sauce over fire for about 5-10 minutes and serve.

Same with the Regular Tylenol. Regular Strength. "Oh, it's just a little headache. Not a Big Doozer Headache. It's definitely not worthy of an Extra Strength Tylenol, being such a small headache. I'll go with the Regular Strength."

In our store, we sell the 7 grain, the 9 grain and the 12 grain breads for the same retail. I almost had the manager put up a sign saying, "Buy the 12 grain bread... get 5 grains for FREE!"
